Ispystrangers

www.myspace.com/ispystrangers.

Listen to: Crisis What Crisis.

Ispystrangers are a 5-piece band hailing from Birmingham. In 2008 they won their local Ernie Ball battle of the bands competition and joined the bill for the Birmingham leg of the Taste Of Chaos tour alongside big name acts such as As I Lay Dying, Story Of The Year and Atreyu. Ispystrangers are fronted by Mikey White with Adam Stokes playing drums, Dave Tims on bass duties and completed with Matt Smith & Alex Dodwell on Guitars. Together ISS make great rock tracks tinged with a little throat and laced with hooks that thoroughly serve their purpose. What’s in store for us in 2009? In their own words, “Prepare for some serious ispystrangers pwnage!!” …We’ve been warned.

The Fallout Theory

Listen to: Don’t show up perfect

This 5-piece from Malvern have been quiet for a long while now, however growing concerns for their welfare were put to rest after they were spotted kicking ass as Dan Scotty’s backing band on C4’s Orange Unsigned Act in December. Phew!

Anyway, 2008 saw The Fallout Theory tour Brazil in August and also pay a visit to a Staffordshire hospital after one member blacked out unannounced and suffered a substantial head injury back in March this time last year (the band didn’t hesitate in posting a lovely photo of this on their myspace, erm, thanks guys!…).

The Fallout Theory play emo infused pop-punk that grows spores inside your head until you catch yourself blurting a few lines from their repertoire on unannounced occasions.

There’s no news as yet but here’s hoping that 2009 will bring the band back out on the road with new tours, new material and hopefully no new head injuries! Keep an eye out for updates/tour dates on their MySpace page!

Lithurgy

Brighton based Lithurgy formed around 2004. Lithurgy's music takes you on an atmospheric journey through powerful riffs, crushing grooves, and epic soundscapes, using odd time signatures, aggressive guitar sounds and a two-pronged vocal assault. Their sound combines elements of thrash and death metal with progressive rock and fusion and is as melodic as it is brutal.

The quintet - Will Gardner (Vocals), Tom Humphrey (Vocals & Lead Guitar), Gazz Harwood (Guitar), Brian Thomas (Bass), Guillaume Croizon (Drums) - have shared stages across the South with many bands including: Textures, Centurion, Out Cry Fire, Lesbian, Church of Misery, Sourvein, thedealwasforthediamond, Here There Be Monsters, Shy of the Depth, Furyon and One Knuckle Fist.

Now armed with a three track EP, mastered by Ace (ex Skunk Anansie), and a set list boasting an arsenal of memorable tracks, Lithurgy are ready to step to the forefront of the underground music scene and bring their open minded approach to metal to the masses.

Jesus H Christ and the Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse

We're an eight piece punk/rock/metal band with horns from New York City. Our songs are about the ugly truths of human nature. The painful, selfish, jealous, petty, crabbing, literary-reference- sucking, egotistical quirks that are woman. And man. Our debut album has gathered mostly great attention from people with brains who can still get hard ons but one guy hates us. We hate him too. It feels good to hate too.

Dale Davies

"I am a 26 year old solo singer, songwriter, guitarist with a backing band for live performances. I have about 30 original and unique tracks that i have written and produced, five of which have been released from my soon to be complete album 'eternal batchelor'. I may well be collaberating with a couple of big names in the music industry but i am unable to mention details yet. I have been offered gigs and showcases all around Wales, England, Scotland and USA by many different companies, labels, promoters and managers. I'm hoping to do as many as possible as soon as my backing band learn my tracks to the standard I require. I am currently looking for an manager and a record label. An International corporation of talent agents has offered me a contract, I am yet to sign. The best myspace chart ratings i have had is number 1 for acoustics internationally, number 18 for all genres internationally and I am regularly at number 1 for all genres in Wales.

Please feel free to check out a more detailed bio and listen to my playable tracks on www.myspace.com/daledavies."
I.C.O.N

Fast becoming one of the UK's most talked about underground metal bands, I.C.O.N, formed in Burnley in 1999, had an unconventional start, spending years touring and recording with a drum machine due to a lack of suitable drummer, but winning fans over with energetic, exciting live performances and strong, original material.

I.C.O.N roar into 2006 in the only way that they know how; with attitude, anger and their brand of hard-nosed fist pounding metal anthems, getting the I.C.O.N message out there as far and as wide as possible, pushing ever harder through excellent live shows and the release of the new EP 'CONTROL'.

Ninepages

Ninepages is the result of two bands formed around January 2005. The members all have very different tastes and influences which contribute to the Ninepages sound. Influences range from Sikth, Deftones, Seether to Meshuggah.

The band recorded their first demo in May 2005 and subsequently played their very first gig at the Mean Fiddler in Tottenham Court Road London. A second demo was recorded, entitled "Walking through Timelines", in November 2005, which so far have received great reviews. The drum recording on the 2nd demo was done at Moon Studios with the rest including the mixing, and production being done by Francois at home. The third demo, as yet untitled, was recorded in the same manner as the previous demo and was released in April of this year.

IRRITANT

With a renewed line-up and refined musical style, IRRITANT have recently returned from recording their third EP "Old Bones". Recorded at Lodge Studios, Northampton, the four track EP displays the band's taste for Heavy Metal, Progressive and Anthem-like Rock. Drawing influence from bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Rush and many others, IRRITANT infuse a duel guitar assault with musical creativity influenced by the latter. Playing at a number of established live venues across the UK, with bands such as FourWayKill, Forever Never, Speed Theory, The Darwin Theory and I-Def-I, IRRITANT have created a reputation for their energetic performances and musicianship. After performing at Gloucester Festival 2005 Stephen Morris of the BBC described the band as "More metallic than metal itself - well to the right hand side of the Periodic Table" with "Scorching Hot Lead Guitar and meaningful lyrics ; ones to watch out for".

Oki Dog

Oki Dog invented themselves by accident a while ago and are a) very close, b) very shambolic (in a tight-as-rude-things sort of way, though), and c) very shouty. They make shouty music to shout to, with shouty guitars, shouty rhythms and ever so shouty vocal - “Why don’t you eat me baby? I taste like Lychee honey” becomes the band’s motto. Oki Dog do smash-and-grab ditties to ram raid East end boutiques to, with evil glint in eye and pointy scuffed shoe aimed at groin. In other words, they are much fun - so much fun that they even played in a REAL toilet in London Fashion Week.

And it seemed like luck’s been on their side. Over 40 shambolic gigs were played with violent whip action; outrageous songs were written that wet a lot of pants. Soon, they found themselves played alongside TheD4 and they had only two rehearsals. “It’s all about live music and energy,” Grace adds. Since, the dogs have enjoyed mayhem with Neil’s Children, Nic Armstrong, Mikabomb, The Rocks, Martini Henry Rifles, Crack Village, Electric Eel Shock, Oceansize, Milk Teeth, thisGIRL, Ludes and the Roolettes.

Oki Dog is the brutal bitch.
