Profane

PROFANE came into being and an EP was recorded and released on oneface records in 1998. This was Profane's first official release, and the initial pressing sold out very quickly, with tapes ending up all over Europe, and responses coming form as far and wide as the USA and the Philippines! Profane later recorded again as a four piece after shedding a guitarist. This recording was the 6 track self-titled EP for independent Sakari Empire Records. The CD was described as a blend of 'bloodlet' style sludgecore with influence from groups such as 'alice in chains' and the 'deftones'. During this time Profane gigged relentlessly, playing shows with bands from all around the world, bands such as: Converge, Morning Again, Raging Speedhorn, As Friends Rust, Shai Hulud and Facedown to name but a few.

Profane's sound has progressed immeasurably with the new line up, and is now a mixture of melodic post hardcore rockage and the sludgy side of the original EP. Our collective influences take in almost all areas of music and we use this diversity to create what we perceive to be a unique sound yet still very much within the Metal genre.
