This Et Al

Review by Kayleigh

Wu – Vocals/Guitar

I was sceptical at first when my Promo CD for a band called “This Et Al” came though my door, but I quickly consoled myself with “never judge a book by its cover” and popped it in my CD player, much to my surprised delight.

According to the website, I was promised a band compared with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Mogwai, and Sonic Youth. In my opinion, it would be hard to compare This Et Al to any one band, They sound like one extreme to the other, From Funeral For a Friend, to Interpol. And that’s what I like most about them. As soon as I finished listening to the CD I began looking at where they were touring, in hope of catching them, and maybe bagging an Interview.

There are Two Tracks on my promo CD; all you’ll ever be is a dancer, and Sabbatical. And both sound completely different. But that’s what I like about this band, they’re not afraid to challenge all ends of the spectrum, and therefore, all their music is unique. And I’m sure they will go far.
