Scubajo

Review by Lauren

Bristol based rock demons Scubajo have produced a decent first EP with four cracking songs that really do get you humming along. ‘Within Your Company’, the first track, is a song about the intricacies of relationships and has a pleasant pop-rock flavour with the tiniest hint of jazz. The second track, ‘Ain’t No Chav’ is strongly lyrical (I happen to agree with the sentiments, any other chav haters out there should probably enjoy it too ;) ). ‘Midnight Driver’ has a slower pace that only serves to accentuate its jazzier tang and emphasise the sexy vibe that stands Scubajo apart from other rock bands. The final instalment of this sophisticated EP is ‘Outside’, a good choice to end the album as it is a slightly more upbeat tune with plenty of attitude.
