TTL Overdrive/The James Warner Prophesies/Jam Abraham  - South Sea Sheffield Live 21/1/12

review by Dave Goodwin  - added 24/01/2012

In my continuing quest to support our lesser known bands I wandered out to the darker reaches of Sheffield to South Sea. An old Working Mens Club re-vamped into quite a decent sized music venue by a couple of local bands, South Sea is slowly picking up momentum. Not surprising at all, and it will continue to as long as they are providing the quality displayed by all three bands here tonight. On first were the awesome TTL Overdrive from Mansfield way on, with their own brand of Blues/Psychedelic/Rock. Middle act The James Warner Prophecies from Derby had the crowd stomping around with a brilliant set. Having supported The blockheads in the past they self confess that they have their dirty little fingers in Rock, Pop, and Lyrical storytelling. The night finished with a packed room to Jam Abraham from Yorkshire, (definately not anywhere near Mansfield) with an energetic crowd mingling set of Rock/Grunge to remember. Its not very often you go to the smaller gigs and get impressed with every band performing but I’ve got to say, all three complimented each other's professionalism, all three each with a different unique sound, all three still largely undiscovered. How does that happen in one night?
