Boys With X-Ray Eyes  - Oh My! How We Terrify

Shiiiiit. Hotly tipped Welsh nutjobs Boys With X-Ray Eyes crawl out of Newport, Wales armed with enough off-kilter riffage to reduce your average All Time Low devotee to a gibbering wreck, and a gusto that might best be described as ‘homicidal.’ The band’s new EP ‘Oh My! How We Terrify’ is as polite as a knuckleduster to the back the head and packs a comparable impact, full of filthy grooves and deranged vocals, and shot through with an urgency that recalls the heyday of US hardcore... you guessed it folks, we like this quite a bit. Clad in genuinely unsettling artwork from the Brighton based TANK.AXE.LOVE (AKA Paul Jackson) and replete with some zany track-titles (case in point, ’Electro The Human Lightning Bolt’), ‘Oh My!...’ is not for all, but scratch the seething surface and there’s a vein of twisted melody to be found in these six discharges, as deeply engrained in face-ripping, contorted riffery as it is, and as far removed from anything that you’d call ‘poppy.’ It appears that many have sat up and taken notice already, and with any luck we’ll be hearing a lot more from this lot in the months to come...
