Returning to our stereo with their new single ‘Killing Me,’ Rev 78 do a good job of reminding us just why their upcoming debut album is so highly anticipated around these parts... Catchy and (whisper it) radio friendly fare that warrants and actually benefits from repeat plays, the London quartet’s third release shows a band unafraid of exploring the stylistic avenues open to them, while keeping one foot placed firmly grounded in the emotionally charged indie rock that forms the basis of their sound. ‘Killing Me’ packs a chorus that wouldn’t seem out of place in your typical teen TV melodrama (Hollyoaks, we’re looking at you), but this isn’t forgettable ear candy, Teddy Quick’s consistently impressive vocal performance combined with an evident care and conviction in the overall songwriting, more than enough to lift this lot above the mass. There are a few live dates currently being lined up for the near future, so make sure that you take a look.
