Megadeath  - Rust In Peace Live

review by Mark  - added 29/08/2010

For many bands to play all of an old album in it's entirety, it seems like they're clinging on to past glories. But considering the last two albums from Dave and co have been half decent I think we can forgive them. Also, it's Rust in fucking Peace!

To be a thrash fan and not know this album track for track is to not truly be a thrash fan. 'Holy Wars...The Punishment Due' of course opens things up after a short introduction from Dave Mustaine's gnarled voice. Many live albums fail to capture the audiences reaction, RIP Live thankfully catches the magic. But you do have to question the excited and seemingly shocked reactions from fans who are hearing a classic album, track one to track nine, nothing else added in between...

Many would be content with just hearing all the tracks from the classic album, but good ol' Dave throws in a few fan favourites (Devil's Island not included). 'She-Wolf', 'Trust' and 'Peace Sells' are all grant additions to what is a beyond solid live album. Megadeth have put on some ropey shows in past years, but thankfully one of the gems has been preserved.
