Rich vocals that will melt even the most sceptical of listeners, Hooks that leave the song with you even after the 3 minutes are up and dusky music that effortlessly simmers away underneath it all. Somebody go and tell Rev78 they’re onto a good thing here. ‘Us against them all’ demonstrates what Indie music sounds like when everything goes right. The haunting introduction creeps up to deliver a brilliant song. Not because it’s in your face or contains some ‘clever’ one liner gimmick seen so often in the Indie/Rock genre, but because it leaves an impression, both musically and lyrically, even without the aforementioned qualities. Think Joy Division with a glimmer of hope, a little bit of Indie swagger and a whole load of potential and you won’t be far off Rev 78.
