Specialising in the sturdy, overdriven riffs, heartfelt balladry and soaring, impassioned vocals with which such nineties/noughties megastars as Creed, Nickelback and Staind have previously taken their places in the highest regions of the charts, Paris quartet Reavens could have a very interesting future ahead of them. With an overall polish and immediacy that defies their currently small profile outside of their home country, the band’s current demo makes up for what it lacks in tenure with a quadruple header of arena size choruses and effective alternation of acoustic and electric guitar; while this has without a doubt been done before many a time, Reavens seem to have most of the fundamentals wrapped up at an early stage in their collective development. It won’t appeal to all, but to those who mourn the post grunge/nu metal domination of the nineties, this could well do the trick. Check out all four of these tracks on their MySpace to make up your own mind.
