Midtown - Forget What You Know

Review by Meesh

Midtown release their third full length album "Forget What You Know" on their new home "Sony", the album has been produced by musical god "Butch Walker" - who has his own new album "Letters" coming out soon... it's beyond me how he finds time to pee inbetween producing, writing, playing etc... anyway, where was I?

Midtown's new album, is good... actually better than good - although it seems that Midtown have moved away slighty from the sound of their last album "Living Well Is The Best Revenge" there's still hints of the poppy punk Midtown on the album, the album showcases a more adult sounding band... musically they sound tighter than they've ever sounded before and its seems Butch has gotten everything out of them that he could, which could only be a good thing.

While the album isnt the most original thing ever, especially the track "As Long As We Keep Our Bodies Numb" sounding much like "Goodbye Sky Harbour" from Jimmy Eat World's "Clarity" album.... but then again, who cares if Midtown are original or not, this is a great album that I'm sure their very proud of and rightly so to!
