HORRORPOPS

Interview by Suzi via email on January 23rd, 2004

HorrorPops Live

Patricia of brilliant Danish band 'HorrorPops' answers Suzi's questions.

You say you're going to shoot a video in LA in mid-January, have you shot it yet? and if so how did it go and what happens in it?

Infact we just finished the last part of the video for "Miss Take" last night! Without revealing too much it takes place in a cinema packed with punks, goths, Greasers, psychobillies and other misfits. They are watching this corny 50's movie ala John Waters "Cry Baby" only that the members of the HorrorPops are the actors! The HorrorPops are performing infront of the screen.

You opened for Rancid in November, what were they like and did you enjoy yourselves?

Rancid rules!! We are very close friends with the members of Rancid and it was a great honour to open for them! And yes we did indeed enjoy ourselves!

Your amzing new album "Hell Yeah" is coming out soon. how long did it take to record and has everything come out as you hoped it would?

Timewise we did this album in a relatively short time. The actual recording was done in two parts of 10-14 days and the mixing was done in a week! We are very satisfied with the result and with the short actual time spend in mind we are very proud of the result we archieved.

Did you have a nice Christmas?

It was somehow very different from the one we are use to. The Californian sun is not exactly what we normally relate to at that time of year. The Scandinavian snow is still a big part of christmas holidays to us!

Did you get any nice presents?

Not that many presents this year!!! But we did cook a nice danish national christmas dish though!

Your website is amazing! who does the designing and artwork for it?

That is all done by a very good friend called Vintage C. He does all the technical stuff and we come up with the ideas!

Do you have any plans to come over to the UK at all?

Hopefully our Europe tour in march will bring us to the UK for atleast one show!

Do you have any good stories from "on the road"?

"What happens on the road, stay's on the road" hahahhaha!

You have really outrageous hair, how long do you spend on your hair and do you buy lots of hair products?

haha! well well...eh yeah I guess it's about time we were looking for a hairspray endorsement!

Kim and Patricia... you taught each other to play new instruments, how long did it take to get the hang of them?

Fairly quick..! We both played stringed instruments before but both of us was driven by motivation and eager to learn it and that helped a lot!

What has been on your CD player most at the moment?

The latest Rancid album totally rocks! Wanda Jackson, Living End and Depeche Mode!

Are there any bands from Denmark you think our readers should check out?

Hmmn.......nope

Anything else you want to add/plug?

Our "Go-Go" dancers want to add that HorrorPops is gonna rock your pants off.

Thanks a lot to HorrorPops for the interview. Check out their rather cool website at www.horrorpops.com.
