Currently on tour with Allister, NHOI and Over It, Hidden in Plain View are set for big things! They have already been to the UK as part of the Drive Thru Invasion Tour as well as doing separate dates with The Early November on the mini Drive Thru tour in January! They have a self-titled EP available which is definately worth a listen to! I had a chat with Rob (HIPV vocals and guitar) to see how things were going...

So it's probably a good idea that you introduce yourself to everyone then...

I'm Rob. Some call me Bob though....I play guitar and sing for HIPV.

How is the Allister tour going? What have been the highlights so far?

The tour is going great...the shows have been going really well...the first leg of the tour we are joined by "Over It"....and that band rules....my highlight has been watching them play "waiting" every night...and also kickin it with Allister....even though they are from Chicago.....joke.

You have been touring with Allister for a long time now, I guess you have become really good friends with them. How are you getting on with the other bands on the tour (NHOI and Over It)?

Getting along really well....everyone is out here loving life and loving music....soo its easy to get along.

How did HIPV start and did you ever think the band would get to the stage where you can play shows abroad and people would know who you are?

We started as a figure skating team...then we realized we all play instruments......our skating routine was killer though.

How long have you been signed to Drive Thru and how did the offer come about?

We've been signed for 20 years now...they signed chris when he was 4....later on they heard our cover of "girls girls girls" by Motley Crue and signed us.

How many of the other Drive Thru bands have you toured with? Have you met them all?

We have not met all of them...but we can't wait to...every band we met so far has been soo cool ...as of now we have played with (early november, startling line, finch, allister, home grown)..I think that's all soo far.

What has been your favourite show(S) to play so far?

Honestly I love every show we play....the dtr tour in the uk was pretty fucking crazy though.

Is there anything that you can't leave at home when you go on tour?

My contacts, my cell phone, camera, and my underwear.

When you are not on tour what kind of things do you like to do?

I produce bands back home...I love doing that (check out sleepwell, royden, houston calls, maverick, skyline.) I've worked with all those guys..and they rock it hard!

Apart from the Warped Tour what other plans has HIPV got for this year?

We record a new record very soon....and we're super excited...we truly cannot wait for everybody to hear our new music.
