Filtered -Album 'See Straight Through'

Review by Ellen

Filtered are - Kabir Sheikh (Guitar and Vocals)
Fraser Whitehead (Bass Guitar)
Nik Gipson (Drums)

Filtered are a band that have been fairly successful so far. Having toured throughout the UK and performing at various venues in London clubs they are currently creating their first DVD. Keeping busy, they are also planning and preparing to start recording for their next album in summer 2005.

'See Straight Through' is an album that shows these guys obviously have musical ability and talent. However, the poor quality of production lets it down. The music levels unfortunately are not very well mixed, leaving the vocals swamped, muffled and drowned out. Despite this, the music is good for its genre. It has various catchy riffs and would clearly appeal to those who enjoy early 90's style rock. Each track is well formed and arranged.

Answering the question ...have I been filtered? I feel bad to say that I'm afraid not...Like I said the music was good, but it would be better if the lyrics were levelled out more equally so it was clearer. Overall I am sure that there are many people who would enjoy this album as the band's material itself has a lot of potential; some of it sounding like Metallica. If your tastes are perhaps more of the early 90's rock then this could be just up your street.
