Review by Nick
The Delights er, ‘delight’ in writing a catchy melodic pop tune in a sort of levellers / prime era Ocean Colour Scene vain. The male/female lead vocals and the energetic jangly guitars bring to mind more recent bands such as the Killers and the Magic Numbers, showing that the Delights sound is definitely up to date. This is an impressive and immediately catchy single, although the chorus “If the streets were rivers/And each led to the sea/Would you float with me?” sound a bit lame after the third reprise and may well induce some to fits of vomiting. Lyrics aside, well recommended.
