Hey peeps, how goes?

First day back to school today. To be honest, I have no problems with school... I mean, whatsoever... Seriously: best days of our lives. People always say to me, like family friends and the family I do see, ...Don’t take these years for granted, you’ll regret it when you’re older... And stuff like ambition, blah blah blah.

And today in class, my teacher for Personal Social Education or whatever PSE stands for, we had to go through words like Ambition, Dreams, Personal Advisors, Self-awareness, Career. We’re in Year 9, 3rd year into senior school. Give us a break! Reaching for the stars. Yeah. Right. In your DREAMS.

OK, fair do’s, someone wants to be a musician. Sometimes they’ll make it! (Without the aid of reality TV, shock horror) and that’s great for them. People might want to be a doctor. Great, if you’ve got it in you and don’t faint at the sight of blood. Whatever. But you’re not guaranteed to get any place you want to go. No matter what. I’m not bursting anyone’s bubble here by the way. If you’ve got a band and you’re getting recognition, Jesus, you can get there. Optimism. But not everyone will get there... But wait; don’t click me off (Wey ey) ... Hear me out...

These days it’s being drilled into you about exams and qualifications and making a difference... If you leave school with either none or a few passes, but basic skills and decide to do a ‘‘lower’’ job, like... God I don’t know, lollypop lady (by the way I admire those people, they do make a difference) or working at a till somewhere, if you’re happy and earning enough to carry yourself through, then what’s the huge problem? If you’re doing something to keep employment levels up and you feel happy within yourself, what’s wrong with that picture?

It’s so much ‘stress’, my SAT exams are coming up in May and it’s revision already, studying, preparation; the works. Why? OK, English lesson here. On well, the English department!! The SAT’s don’t make a bloody bit of difference to you in later life or even at school! Makes you look good on paper for what, 3 years? Then no one sees it. Exams and GCSE’s yeah, work hard but SAT’s? The point of them, anyone? And people suffering from panic attacks before/during the exam. It’s so wrong, all the emphasis made on them.

Back to jobs... I either want to go into music somehow, not sure where... Work with animals or wolves in general or writing somehow. Journalism etc. Now they’re all quite high on the ‘’good jobs’’ list I guess. So am I contradicting myself? I have no idea. But either way, who knows where I’m going to be in 10, 15 years? But before all this: Good job, house, garden furniture, money thing, I want to be happy! With myself, my life, everything. Sure, a good job and money helps, I won’t lie. But schools are banging down really hard on well, nothing. Touch your dreams, reach for the stars. Yeah, try. Give it your best shot. But come on! Be realistic. If someone wants to work at a warehouse, like my mom (well she dosen’t really have much choice) then you’d think ...Ugh, not nice... But she comes home every day really happy because she has a laugh there, gets her work done and gets enough money... Working somewhere that earns a lot but coming home every day stressed is no way to live.

Oh, by the way, I AM NOT DEPRESSED. Haha. I just thought it would be a good topic to cover. I mean school and college, even University are more fun than working, so moaning about whatever, getting up early... Actually, that does suck. I could carry my books in the bags under my eyes. I love that saying. You get such a mental image!!

Right, if you have nothing better to do, think about what I’ve been talking about. But if Johnny Knoxville Or Johnny Depp walk past, you have permission to leg-hump them.
Live long and prosper. Well, until next time anyways.
