Coming from Newcastle (North East England,UK) Harlot is a Melodic Metal quartet which started playing in 2007. Their life as a band has changed in 2010 as they’ve become finalists of the North-East and Scotland’s Live & Unsigned: something that has certainly helped them - catching the attention of Ambicon Records, their label since then.
Despite their young ages, when it comes to the music, James Mclackland (vocals/guitar), Cameron Brown (drums), Daniel Johnson (bass) and Adam Latham (guitar) are far from being newbies due to the competence and talent demonstrated throughout the several presentations all over UK. Having among their influences bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine and Coheed and Cambria, the material composed by Harlot features modern metal with pinches of 80’s influences, something easily recognized in the great guitar solos and also all over the epic atmosphere on their arrangements.
The quality of Harlot’s sounds and material has gathered a legion of fans not to mention a strong credibility on the scene. As a consequence, in November 2010 they entered the studio with producer Martin Corkhill (My Extraordinary) and begun working on their debut EP “The Sinners Songbook”.
The first single “Empty Words” is already available at Harlot’s MySpace as a free download while the EP’s release is scheduled for Summer 2011. So, if you want a good sample of UK’s metal you better check these lads music.
