Nicholas Crossland and Ben Smith are two young people from Lincoln specialising in music and promotions around the country. They have taken it upon themselves to organise a regional rock music competition for young musicians of school age (up to 19 years old), which will be held across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. Bands can enter this competition by going to www.YoungAndRocking.com where they have to send in a demo CD of three tracks (all music must be original). All entries will be judged by two anonymous sub-adjudicators and will also receive constructive feedback. Five finalists will be chosen and will play to a crowd at an exciting final concert, which will be held at:
Lincoln Drill Hall, Lincoln
Friday 12th February 2010
7:30pm
The finalists will each play a 20 minute set which will be judged by an industry professional. The winning band will receive a prize – this prize being free studio time in a professional recording studio! Also, PureTime, which are the company behind the event, works in music promotion, so they will do their best to get as much publicity for the winning band as possible. This fresh and exciting competition could be career changing and get young talent heard by the masses.
Young and Rocking competition is open from 14th September and welcomes all young bands from the Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire areas. So get entering your music and take part...it’s an opportunity you really can’t afford to miss!
