26/10/2013 - 10 Great Soundtracks From The Past 10 Years

"Depending on the film, the soundtrack can become a make or break situation for whether or not you remain engaged in the narrative. Many of the "greatest" and most critically acclaimed films in history have original, composed scores led by the likes of John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and Ennio Morricone. Their work has even influenced the work of plenty of rock musicians, particularly Morricone and his Old West compositions." If you love movies and music, you'll no doubt be a fan of movie soundtracks, so take a look at our guest editorial: 10 Great Soundtracks From The Past 10 Years!

Texan pop punk veterans and Rock Pulse favourites, Bowling for Soup have come to the UK again – their 30th visit in 18 years – and this time they’re here with fellow bands and friends, The Dollyrots and Patent Pending, to promote their new album, ‘One Big Happy’.

To celebrate their return, Suzi and I headed over to Manchester Academy to catch up with the guys before their gig.

First off, we met the wonderful Kelly, Luis and James from The Dollyrots and spoke about Joan Jett, home baked cookies, and being lifelong losers. You can read that interview here.

Next up was the always lovely Erik Chandler from Bowling for Soup. We grabbed a few minutes of the bassist and backing vocalist's time to talk about first class flights, acoustic shows, and the power of sleep. You can read the interview with Erik here.

We also managed to catch their show, and you can read the review of the gig right here.
